YiCast — Terms of Service

1. What YiCast Is

YiCast is an I Ching divination app that lets you cast virtual coins and receive AI-generated hexagram interpretations. It is a tool for self-reflection and entertainment — not professional advice of any kind.

YiCast is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, financial, legal, or spiritual advice. We make no claims about the accuracy, predictive power, or therapeutic value of any reading.

2. Accounts

You can use YiCast anonymously with limited features, or create an account to save readings and access the full experience. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially or repeatedly violate these Terms, after providing reasonable notice where practicable.

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@yicast.app. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Virtual Currency and Purchases

YiCast uses jade coins, a virtual currency for unlocking premium features such as AI-powered readings, character readers, and collectible coins. We may also offer subscriptions (e.g., reading passes or premium tiers) that provide time-limited access to features.

• Jade coins are purchased with real money through the app stores (Google Play, Apple App Store) or the web.
• Jade coins have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or refunded except as required by applicable law.
• We may adjust jade coin pricing, bonus amounts, subscription pricing, and the cost of in-app features at any time. Price changes do not affect already-purchased jade coins or active subscription periods.
• Unused jade coins remain in your account as long as your account is active.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your app store account.
• If we discontinue YiCast, we will give at least 30 days' notice before removing access to purchased content.

Right of Withdrawal (EU/EEA)

Under EU consumer protection law, you have a 14-day right to withdraw from digital content purchases. However, by requesting immediate access to jade coins or other digital content at the time of purchase, you acknowledge that you lose this withdrawal right once the content is delivered. This does not affect your statutory rights under applicable law.

Refunds for app store purchases are handled by the respective app store per their refund policies.

4. AI-Generated Content

Readings are generated by third-party AI services on your behalf. When you request a reading:

• Your question (if provided) and hexagram data are sent to an external AI service to generate the interpretation.
• AI-generated interpretations are unique each time and may vary in quality.
• We do not guarantee that AI content will be accurate, helpful, or appropriate.
• AI-generated content does not represent our views or advice.

You should not rely on AI readings for important life decisions.

5. Your Content

"Your Content" means the questions you ask, notes you write, and feedback you submit.

• You retain ownership of Your Content.
• You grant us a limited license to process Your Content as needed to provide the service (e.g., sending your question to the AI service to generate a reading).
• We may use anonymized, aggregated usage data (not your personal questions or notes) to improve the app.

6. Acceptable Use

Don't use YiCast to:

• Violate any law or regulation
• Harass, abuse, or harm others
• Attempt to access other users' data
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app
• Use automated tools to scrape or overload the service
• Circumvent payment mechanisms or exploit bugs for free access to paid features

7. Intellectual Property

All content in YiCast — including character designs, coin designs, UI elements, animations, music, and software — is owned by Rauma Holding Oy or its licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

The I Ching source texts are in the public domain. Our original interpretations, character voices, and creative presentation of those texts are our intellectual property.

8. YiCast Is a Service

YiCast is provided as an ongoing service, not a finished product. This means:

• Features may change. We continuously develop YiCast — features, content, pricing, and functionality may be added, modified, or removed at any time. We don't guarantee that any specific feature will remain available.
• No guaranteed uptime. We aim to keep YiCast available but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control may cause downtime.
• AI interpretations may vary. The AI models, providers, and prompts we use to generate readings may change, which can affect the style and content of interpretations.
• Terms may update. We may update these Terms. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Finnish law:

• YiCast is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
• Our total liability for any claim related to YiCast is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Finnish law, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

10. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Helsinki, Finland.

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to submit disputes to the Consumer Disputes Board of Finland (kuluttajariitalautakunta, www.kuluttajariita.fi) or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/odr).
